Capturing Joy: A Photoshoot with Sofia and Stavros

Earlier this year, I had the pleasure of photographing a delightful mother-son duo, Sofia and her young child, Stavros. This shoot was a wonderful reminder of the beauty and spontaneity of childhood, and I can’t wait to share my experience!

We decided on a natural light setup, utilizing the soft glow streaming in from the window. There’s something incredibly magical about natural light; it creates a warm, inviting atmosphere that perfectly complements the candid moments I aim to capture. As soon as I arrived, I could sense the excitement in the air, especially from little Stavros, who was brimming with energy.

Sofia was a fantastic co-collaborator, effortlessly interacting with Stavros and encouraging him to play and explore. But let me tell you, chasing a quickly crawling boy around the floor is no easy task! I found myself on my hands and knees, trying to keep up with his curious spirit while capturing those precious moments. From his adorable giggles to his inquisitive expressions, every shot was a testament to the joy of childhood.

The natural light created beautiful highlights, illuminating the playful connection between mother and son. I loved how Sofia’s laughter echoed in the room as she played peek-a-boo with Stavros, and those candid moments are where true magic happens. It was all about capturing the real, unscripted interactions that showcased their bond.
